GWCT Black Grouse Enamel Badge

GWCT Black Grouse Enamel Badge

£5 from the sale of each badge goes directly to our Black Grouse Range Expansion Project - only 500 available

You can support our vital Black grouse conservation work by purchasing our brand new premium enamel badge. This beautiful badge measures approx. 4.5cm with a butterfly clutch attachment.

£5 from your order will go directly to our Black Grouse Range Expansion Project, working to reinstate populations of this iconic species across northern England.

Once widespread in Britain, the black grouse is now scarce. Populations remain in Scotland and Wales, but in England they are only found in Northumberland, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and Durham.

Our research highlights what black grouse need to thrive, and we’re taking action to help. Building on our Uplands research, we’re working to translocate and re-establish black grouse in the North York Moors, expanding their range. Birds fitted with radio transmitters allow us to monitor their movements, survival, and lekking behaviour.

With funding from Natural England’s Species Recovery Programme, we’ve made a strong start – please help us continue this vital work.
